How Babu uses customer and website information

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

We may collect:

·       your name, email address, telephone number, billing and delivery addresses;

·       order, payment-status, delivery, return and refund information;

·       messages and customer-service records; and

·       technical information from the Website, such as IP address, device information and cookie data.

We do not normally receive or store your full payment-card details; these are handled by payment providers.

3. Why we use it

We use personal information:

·       to take payment, process and deliver orders, handle returns and provide customer service because this is necessary for our contract with you;

·       to keep tax, accounting and consumer-law records and comply with other legal obligations;

·       to prevent fraud, protect the Website, manage disputes and operate our business where this is in our legitimate interests; and

·       to send marketing or use optional cookies where you have consented, or where marketing to existing customers is otherwise permitted by law.

4. Who we share it with

We share information only where necessary with service providers such as our website and ecommerce platform, payment processors, couriers, IT and email providers, professional advisers and public authorities. If the business closes or is restructured, relevant records may also be provided to professional advisers, an insolvency practitioner or a lawful successor. We do not sell personal information.

Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, we use an approved legal safeguard for the transfer.

5. How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as needed. Order, refund, tax and accounting records are generally kept for up to six years. Marketing details are kept until you opt out or they are no longer needed. Limited records may be retained longer where required by law or for a dispute, including after trading ends.

6. Marketing and cookies

You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time by using the link in a message or emailing us. We may keep a minimal record of your opt-out.

The Website uses necessary cookies for functions such as checkout and security. Optional analytics or marketing cookies are used only where permitted and, where required, after you consent through the cookie settings.

7. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to its use. 8. Security and complaints

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information.

If you believe we have not handled your information properly, email concierge@babu.clothing and clearly state that you are making a data-protection complaint. We will acknowledge it within 30 days, make appropriate enquiries and tell you the outcome without undue delay.

9. Changes

We may update this notice where our practices or the law change. The current version will be published on the Website with its updated date.
